Upcycling

upcycleverb: the practice of taking used goods or waste material and transforming them into something of greater use and value

Doodlebags makes a range of bags and accessories using upcycled textiles, and our eco-friendly approach enhances the unique nature of each item.  Despite being upcycled, our textiles are high quality and include upholstery and interior fabric swatches (from designers such as Zoffany, Liberty, Ralph Lauren, Andrew Martin, Designers Guild, Jane Churchill, Osborne & Little and Mulberry), tailoring samples (as used in London’s Saville Row and Jermyn Street), household linens and even broken tents.

Buttons, zips and trimmings are also all sourced secondhand.

All our branding, stationery and packaging is created in-house using re-used, recycled or reclaimed materials; this includes our leaflets, business cards, labels, postal boxes and display items.

Doodlebags has a strong commitment to recycling: anything we can’t use in our workshop is donated to local schools, charities and organisations, and all our waste is recycled wherever possible.

If you would like some of our off-cuts, or have unwanted fabrics or trimmings that you think we can use or would like us to pass on to schools on your behalf,
then please contact Helen Saunders via doodlebags@hotmail.co.uk
